I was born in Mexico, and immigrated to the United States when I was 6. I am an Iowa State graduate where I earned a mechanical engineering degree. I moved to Cedar Rapids to work as an engineer at Rockwell Collins. I worked there until I was pregnant with my third child. At that point, I decided to become a stay at home parent and did that for 5 years before taking on the role of Director of Marketing at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
I am proof that God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called! Although I have experience with social media marketing, I don’t have a degree in it. After I saw the Director of Marketing position in the bulletin in 2019, I couldn’t get it out of my head. Two months later, I still felt like God was nudging me to apply. I was hired and a week after I started, the Covid-19 shutdown happened. It turns out that my technical degree was exactly what was needed for the critical need of livestreaming the Masses for everyone to worship at home.
Every day, I come to work, ready for where God is leading me, and trusting that He’ll give me the tools and skills needed to do my job.
