Father Gary Mayer grew up in Stacyville, Iowa, and has been a priest for eleven years (as of 2020). For five years, Father Gary was assigned to Dubuque, IA, first as an associate pastor at Holy Ghost, Holy Trinity, and Sacred Heart parishes (now Holy Spirit Parish) and then at Resurrection Parish. While in Dubuque he also was a member of the faculty and the chaplain of Wahlert Catholic High School. Prior to coming to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Father Mayer was the pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Charles City and Saint Michael Parish in Nashua. Father Gary's parents live in Stacyville, Iowa, and his brother's family in Saint Ansgar, Iowa.
