Baptism is the first sacrament of initiation, therefore the gateway to all the other sacraments. What are the benefits? Sanctifying grace, faith, hope, love, becoming a child of God, and therefore heir to the kingdom, bearing his permanent mark that says we belong to him, being washed clean of original sin, receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit, participating in Jesus' mission as priest, prophet and king, born again as a new creation…receive these and other realities as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit take up residence in your soul!
Our baptismal preparation gatherings are offered on the 1st Sunday of every other month, 9:45am-10:45am.
If you have never been part of a session at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton or this is your first baby, please register for a session prior to baptism of your child. If you have been to a session within the last 5 years at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton you do not need to attend another session.
After attending a preparation session please call Kathy Lester: 319-393-3778 in the parish office to schedule the actual baptism for your baby.
For specific questions about the class please contact Trish Lokmer., 393-3778.
