Fostering Lifelong Faith Formation for a Vibrant Parish

Formation is lifelong, for all ages and generations, rooted in the life of the Church. Faith-filled and educated adults are pivotal for renewed life in our parish and households. Children, youth, and adults experience formation in a variety of ways; while gathered with their peers, as part of their families, as part of the parish, and as individuals using the resources in their community. We want to explore the ways that each of these settings can enhance the faith-life of the members of our parish community. Specific programming focused on the key task areas of catechesis: knowledge of faith, liturgical education, moral formation, teaching to pray, education for community life, and missionary initiation will be considered.

A Year of Faith Proclaimed (October 11, 2012-November 24, 2013)
Pope Benedict XVI has proclaimed a Year of Faith to awaken Catholics around the world to deepen our relationship with God and live as joyful witnesses to the Gospel.  We are called to Prayer, Study, Outreach and Evangelization.  We hope this webpage will be a resource for you in preparing for and living out your faith more fully!  Each month we will have some "ideas" you can easily implement to enrich your life of faith.

This week’s ideas for the Year of Faith:

PRAYER: Pray the rosary as a family.  October is the month of the rosary.

STUDY: Click on and browse one of our “Great Adult Faith Formation Websites”, located on our parish website under adult faith formation.

OUTREACH: Have you donated to our parish baby shower??

EVANGELIZATION: What has Jesus done in your life today?  Ask this question to yourself each night and to your family daily.

*Read Pope Benedict XVI's Apostolic Letter on the Year of Faith: Porta Fidei (Door of Faith).

How wide open will your door of faith be this year?  Jesus is knocking.....

5 Ways to Fall in Love Again With Christ This Year
1.  Discover Jesus anew in the Gospels.  Evangelization begins with the Evangelists.  Through them, come to understand his ways with you.
2.  Pray more.  It's easy to say we don't have the time, but that is what makes it an ideal sacrifice to God.
3.  Read about the lives and thoughts of those who knew God the best: the Doctors of the Church, the saints, and our most recent popes.
4.  Go to Mass.
5.  Build community in your parishes, neighborhoods, and home.  Open your life to others, invite them in...share your life with others.
