April 9, 2009 - Missed the parent meetings for Religious Education? You can still sign up by printing off the forms on the "Forms" page (click "Forms" on the above tag line).

All Households Must Complete:

  1. 2009-2010 Religious Education Family Registration
  2. 2009/10 Annual Parental/Guardian Consent Form and Liability Waiver

Depending upon the grade level of the students, you will need to complete the respective student form - Sunday School, Elementary, Middle School or High School - for each child. We have worked hard to provide a flexible, family-friendly program for all age groups. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our parish office at 393-3778. Tricia Lokmer oversees the Sunday School and middle school programs; Angie Bulman, the high school program; and Sr. Annette Kestel, the elementary program.

Update on FOCA and Other Urgent Pro-Life Issues

May 12, 2009 - Information regarding FOCA or "Freedom of Choice Act," can be viewed by clicking here. It is uncertain as to whether or not this piece of legislation will pass in its entirety or item by item. Please continue to contact your representatives to prevent this legislation from becoming law. Also, Iowa House File 323, the "Woman's Right to Know Act," provides for an informed consent process of at least 24 hours before an abortion is performed. This is another act which we need to contact our representatives. A similar version of the bill passed both chambers and was vetoed by the previous governor twice in the early part of the decade.

Check out more detailed information on the Social Concerns Committee page by clicking the "Committees" tab on top of this page, and choose "Social Concerns." Please contact your legislators. We need your help!!

New Ministry Offered by Respect Life Committee

February 25, 2009 - New to St. Elizabeth's, this program encourages us to pray daily for a child who is in danger of being aborted. From February through October, posters following the progress of a child's development en utero will be displayed on the bulletin board in the "Committee" section. Prayer cards with a brief prayer will also be available. More information about this ministry is available on their website, www.spiritualadoption.org.

Find the Ministry Schedule on the Calendar

April 27, 2007 - We have recently updated the calendar to include the ministry schedule or the assignment of altar servers, cantors, Eucharistic ministers, hospitality ministers, lectors, music ministers, sacristans, and ushers. You can access it by clicking the "Calendar" tab above. You can have the calendar show only ministry schedules by using the filter on the top left corner of the calendar page. Instead of seeing "All Events" just click the arrow to the right of that and drop down to select "Ministry Schedules." You may then select the date and Mass time you are interested in viewing. You should be able to now see who is assigned to serve in the various ministry roles for that particular Mass. In addition, you may see the entire schedule through September 3, 2007 by clicking, "click for more information"  at the bottom of the an opened Mass time screen. The entire schedule is also available on the Liturgy Committee page. If you have any questions regarding obtaining the ministry schedule, please contact us.
